Terms & Conditions and Return Policy

Domotic — Shopping, Consulting and Support Terms

Smart homes. Clear expectations.

These terms explain shopping with Domotic and the consulting, design, configuration and support services we agree to provide. They work alongside our Shipping, Returns and Privacy policies and your accepted quote or booking confirmation. Nothing here excludes, restricts or replaces your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

1. Your order or quote

Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable. Delivery and any other mandatory charges are disclosed before you pay. For services, we confirm the scope, total price or charging basis, payment schedule and any travel charges before you book or approve the work. We do not publish a general service rate card because the scope can vary between projects.

Please check your order, contact details and delivery address. If we identify an availability issue or genuine pricing error, we will contact you promptly to agree a solution or refund the affected order. We will not charge you more or substitute an item without your agreement.

For quoted work, we need your written approval before ordering project products or booking the agreed work. Any extra work, changed scope or additional cost must be agreed in writing before it proceeds. A quote may set out project-specific deliverables and payment milestones; it cannot take away your consumer rights.

2. The right gear for your home

Smart-home products may need compatible Apple devices, hubs, networking, accounts, software or third-party subscriptions. Check the product information and ask us if you are unsure. We will explain relevant requirements and known ongoing charges as part of our advice or quote. Where you tell us the purpose you need a product or service for and reasonably rely on our advice, your consumer guarantees still apply.

Third-party platforms and services can change over time. We will be honest about known dependencies and limitations. We do not promise that third-party software, cloud services or subscriptions will remain unchanged forever, and this does not limit any legal responsibility we have for the products or services we supply.

3. Consumer guarantees and warranties

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. Goods must be of acceptable quality, match their description and be fit for a disclosed purpose where the law requires. Services must be provided with due care and skill, be fit for an agreed purpose, and be supplied within a reasonable time if no time is agreed.

For a major failure with goods, you can choose a refund or replacement. For other failures, you are entitled to an appropriate remedy. You may also be entitled to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Remedies for services can include having a problem fixed, cancelling the affected service and receiving a refund where required by law.

Domotic does not provide an additional voluntary warranty. Any applicable manufacturer warranty is extra to your legal rights; those rights do not automatically end when a manufacturer warranty expires. This does not remove a warranty or promise already made for an earlier purchase. See our Returns & Consumer Guarantees policy for how to get help.

4. Discovery and consultations

We offer an initial 15-minute discovery conversation at no charge to understand your goals and whether we can help. For a paid consultation, we confirm the fee before booking and payment is due when you book.

Our standard paid consultation includes a 60-minute video meeting, informed by your completed pre-survey, plus up to 30 minutes in total for preparation and a short written summary. We send that summary within 3 business days after the meeting. Detailed designs, drawings, product schedules and implementation are separately scoped and quoted. Consultation fees are not automatically credited against later project work.

On-site consultations are separately quoted, including travel. Larger design projects may use a fixed fee with payments linked to agreed deliverables. Your quote explains what you receive and when payment is due.

5. Consultation cancellations and rescheduling

Give us at least 48 hours' notice to cancel for a full refund or reschedule without charge. With less than 48 hours' notice, we offer one free reschedule.

For a late cancellation, a second late reschedule or a missed appointment, any amount we retain will be limited to reasonable preparation already completed and actual loss we cannot reasonably recover, taking account of costs saved and our ability to refill the appointment. There is no automatic forfeiture of the full fee. We will explain the calculation and refund any balance. If something unexpected or serious happens, contact us so we can consider the circumstances fairly.

If Domotic needs to cancel, you can choose a full refund or a new appointment. These arrangements do not limit rights you have under Australian Consumer Law.

6. Project scope and handover

Your accepted quote sets out the consulting, design, product supply, software configuration and other agreed deliverables. Handover for a configuration project is included in the quoted labour. Detailed building, electrical installation and cabling contracts are outside these general consultation terms and require separate arrangements with appropriately licensed or registered providers.

7. Support that is clear from day one

For a completed Domotic installation or configuration project, we include minor remote questions and adjustments relating to our original setup for 30 days after handover. New features, additional devices, substantial changes and unrelated issues are separately quoted. This 30-day allowance does not limit our obligation to fix a problem with our goods or services where the law requires.

Store product purchases do not include free general setup or technical support from Domotic. You can contact the manufacturer directly for its support options, subject to its own terms and any disclosed charges. Apple provides support for Apple software directly to customers under its own support arrangements. You can always contact Domotic about a fault or consumer guarantee claim without buying support or going to the manufacturer first.

Paid support is quoted before work starts. Where an hourly rate applies, we bill in 30-minute increments and disclose the rate and any minimum charge before you approve it. Work beyond the agreed scope requires your approval.

8. On-site visits and travel

We're based on Sydney's Northern Beaches, serving the Northern Beaches and North Shore, with other Sydney locations by arrangement. Remote consulting and support may be available elsewhere in Australia. For on-site work, we confirm the service charge and any travel, parking or toll costs before you approve the visit.

9. Privacy and getting help

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Agreeing to these terms does not sign you up for marketing; that is a separate choice.

For orders, support enquiries or complaints, contact info@domotic.com.au or 1800 DOMOTIC with the relevant details. We will work with you to understand the issue and find a fair resolution. You can still seek help from your state or territory consumer protection agency or exercise your legal rights.

10. Updates to these terms

We may update these terms for future orders and bookings. Changes do not retrospectively remove agreed rights or promises for an existing purchase or accepted quote.

Shipping — from our suppliers to your smart home

Australian delivery

Our standard online checkout delivers to Australian addresses. Orders usually ship directly from our Australian suppliers, and different items may travel with different carriers.

Shipping costs

Standard Australian shipping is $9.95 for orders below $199 and free for orders of $199 or more. Your applicable shipping charge is shown before you pay. If we split your order into separate deliveries, we will not charge extra shipping for those separate parcels.

Dispatch and delivery

In-stock orders are normally dispatched within 1 business day after payment is confirmed. Delivery is generally estimated at 2–5 business days after dispatch, depending on the supplier, carrier and destination. These are estimates, not guaranteed arrival dates; regional and remote addresses may take longer. Business days exclude weekends and public holidays.

If a supplier stock issue or other delay affects your order, we will contact you with the available information and your options. We will not substitute a product without your agreement. If we cannot supply your order, we will arrange a refund for the unavailable items. Your rights for significant delays or non-delivery remain protected by Australian Consumer Law.

Tracking and delivery help

We will share tracking details when our supplier or carrier provides them. Please check your delivery details before paying and contact us promptly if anything needs correcting. If a parcel is missing, damaged or delayed, contact Domotic at info@domotic.com.au with your order number. We will help investigate with the supplier or carrier; you do not need to sort it out alone. We will explain and agree any reasonable redelivery cost caused by an incorrect address or missed delivery before charging it. This does not apply where we or our delivery partners are responsible, or limit your consumer rights.

International enquiries

International delivery is not available through our standard checkout. Contact us before ordering if you need delivery overseas. We will consider each request and confirm product suitability, destination requirements, availability, shipping costs and any relevant import arrangements before accepting an order. Australian product certification does not automatically mean a product is approved for use overseas.

Terms & Conditions

Returns & Consumer Guarantees

Changed your mind? Let’s make it straightforward.

For standard non-Apple products, you can request a change-of-mind return within 14 days of delivery. Items must be unopened, unused, complete and in their original packaging in a saleable condition. Apple products are excluded from change-of-mind returns only; your Australian Consumer Law rights remain unaffected.

Email info@domotic.com.au with your order number and the items you would like to return. We will provide the correct return address and instructions. Please send the items within 14 days of receiving those instructions and keep your postage receipt and tracking details. Do not send a return directly to a supplier without our instructions.

You pay return postage for a change-of-mind return. Once we have received and inspected the items and confirmed they meet these conditions, we will refund the product price to your original payment method. Original delivery charges are not refunded for change-of-mind returns. We do not charge a restocking fee.

The change-of-mind offer does not cover custom-made or personalised items, or genuine customer-specific procurement where we clearly explained and you agreed to the exclusion before ordering. An item is not excluded simply because it ships from a supplier.

Something faulty, damaged or not as described?

Your Australian Consumer Law rights apply separately from our change-of-mind offer. The 14-day window, unopened condition and original-packaging requirements do not restrict those rights.

Our goods and services come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. For a major failure with goods, you can choose a refund or replacement. For other failures, you are entitled to an appropriate remedy, which may include repair, replacement or refund. You may also be entitled to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Services must be provided with due care and skill, be fit for a purpose you make known, and be supplied within a reasonable time where no time is agreed. Remedies for services can include having a problem fixed, cancelling the affected service and receiving a refund where required by law.

Contact Domotic with your order details and a description of the issue. Photos or a short video can help where practical. We may need to assess the product to identify the appropriate remedy. We will explain the process and arrange or reimburse reasonable return costs where required by law. You do not need to contact the manufacturer instead of us, or buy technical support to exercise your consumer rights.

Manufacturer warranties

Domotic does not offer an additional voluntary warranty. Any applicable manufacturer warranty is extra to your consumer guarantees and follows the manufacturer's terms. Your legal rights do not automatically end when a manufacturer warranty expires. This policy does not remove any warranty or promise already made for an earlier purchase.
