Installation and limitations: This is an extension, not a standalone powered kit. Use the dedicated compatible Hue Play power supply supplied with a Play base kit; it supports up to three Play light bars. Do not substitute the power supply from a different Hue lamp. Follow the supplied mounting instructions, and keep the light bar and power equipment in dry indoor areas. A Hue Bridge is required for smart control. TV synchronisation additionally requires a compatible Hue sync box or supported Hue Sync TV app, sold separately.
Apple Home through a Hue Bridge: A compatible Hue Bridge or Bridge Pro with current firmware connects supported lights to Apple Home. Use HomeKit or Matter as supported by the Bridge; Bridge sold separately. Local control uses your home network. With an iPhone running iOS 18 or later, supported Matter accessories can be added to and controlled in Apple Home without an Apple home hub. Apple Home automations and remote access require a compatible Apple home hub; remote access also requires internet.
Hue app: Hue app remote access requires a Hue account and internet. Hue scenes and entertainment features are configured separately in the Hue app. Apple Home Key does not apply.
